Amalgam Removal
Amalgam removal is a dental procedure performed when old amalgam fillings need to be replaced for functional, esthetic or medical reasons. The procedure is carried out using safety techniques aiming to protect you from swallowing or inhaling the composites of amalgam especially mercury. The safety protocol consists of:
1. Using special suction.
2. Use of isolators.
3. Irrigation-cooling region.
4. Cover of the patient’s face
5. Ventilation-ionization of our clinic space.
6. Sterilization of dental tissues after removal.
7. Detoxification of our patient with homeopathic and phytotherapeutic products, before and after the procedure to ensure the removal of amalgam and mercury from the body.
8. Remove the amalgam in as much as possible, larger pieces.
9. Use of nitrogen peroxide.
10. Remove no more than 3 obstructions per week.
11. Special filter on the dental unit, to limit enviromental pollution through wastewater (“Green” Dentistry).
